selection of restaurants that are worth the visit !!!

Comme chez soi
- our rating (5/5)
This is the top the line !!! Perfect combination of warmth
and elegance, Pierre Wynants, the owner and cook, considers
himself as the guardian of a very Belgian idea of gastronomy.

This restaurant is situated on the first floor of an 18th

Bleu de toi
- our rating (4/5)
"Bleu de toi" is the specialist of the "Bintje",
a fine potato grown in Belgium... Cosy and very intimate two
floor restaurant, very peaceful atmosphere !!! This is located
at 1 mile of the Grand Place.

Aux
armes de Bruxelles - our
rating (4/5)
"This is probably the best restaurant located in the
famous Rue des Bouchers. Others are mainly tourist traps...
It's the only restaurant that doesn't employ a loudmouthed
tourist-snatcher at the door.

Chez Leon -
our rating (2/5)
"The small chain Chez Léon, also now with a restaurant
on Champs Elysées in Paris, started at this very place.
This a place for Belgian cuisine and mussels, especially in
July and August.

In 't Spinnekopke
- our rating (3/5)
In The Spiders Little Head is indeed a strange place to run
a restaurant, but the name refers to the long history of this
charming place, opened in 1762. Great food, especially the
beer cuisine, moderately priced (main courses approximately
13$) and, of course, theres an extensive beer list.
Place du Jardin aux fleurs 1 (Center) Phone: 02.511. 86. 95 |
Je Rève
- our rating (3/5)
This restaurant, in the lively Botanique neighbourhood, has
probably the most inspiring and daring interior in Brussels.
Inspiration for the food seems to come from all over the world.
There are dim sums on the menu, but also kangaroo steaks.
For the less adventurous there is also more traditional Belgian
food. Rue de Meridien 4 (Botanique Area) Phone: 02.218.

L'idiot du Village
- our rating (3/5)
At L'Idiot du Village the eight tables are reserved night
after night for dishes like goat cheese terrine, grilled langoustines
with tomato, stewed rabbit with bacon, grilled sea bass on
a bed of creamy lentils and warm apple tart with cinnamon
ice cream. And even though no attention is paid to the specialties
that have come to be associated with Belgian cuisine, it's
as typical of Belgium as carbonnades.

L'Atelier de la Truffe
Noire - our rating
(4/5)
This restaurant is excellent but dreadfully expensive. Last
year, Italian chef Luigi Cicieriello, who runs the incredible
La Truffe Noire (The Black Truffle), opened this place, serving
first class fast food. Nice modern setting, open all day (also
for breakfast: omelette with truffle + glass of champagne
= BEF 650/EUR 15), great food, reasonably priced. The restaurant
also incorporates a shop. 300 Avenue Louise (Center) Phone:
